Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 4, 2026

1. Introduction

ClimberPyramid ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services, including climbing logs, grade pyramid reports, and route beta notes (private and public).

2. Data controller

ClimberPyramid is operated by Nikola Djuric ("Data Controller").

If you have questions about how your data is handled, you can contact:

  • Name: Nikola Djuric
  • App: ClimberPyramid
  • Email: support@climberpyramid.com
  • Website: https://climberpyramid.com
  • Country/region: Serbia (EU region)

3. Information we collect

When you use ClimberPyramid, we may collect the following types of personal data:

  • Name (if you choose to provide it)
  • Email address
  • Photos and doodles you attach to beta notes
  • Voice recordings you attach to beta notes (where available)
  • Climbing log data (grades, dates, locations, results, discipline)
  • Beta note content (text, links, grades, locations, video links)
  • User IDs used to identify your account and subscriptions
  • Usage data and diagnostics about how you interact with the app

3.1 Account information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Password (encrypted and hashed), or sign-in via Apple or Google
  • Name and surname (if provided)
  • Unique user identifiers (such as your Supabase user ID)

3.2 Climbing logs and pyramid settings

We collect and store:

  • Climb entries (discipline, grade, date, location, result, route names)
  • Preferred grade scales per discipline
  • Pyramid report preferences (date range preset, number of tiers)

Pyramid reports are calculated on your device from logs we sync to your account; we do not run a separate "reporting" service that stores precomputed pyramid charts on our servers.

3.3 Beta notes and media

We store content you create in beta notes, including:

  • Title, description, grade, location, and discipline
  • Photos and image doodles
  • Voice note audio files (Climber Pro and free-tier quotas may apply)
  • External video links (for example YouTube URLs you paste)
  • Export/import bundles you create on your device

3.4 Public beta catalog

If you publish a beta note to the public catalog, we store and display listing metadata and the note content needed for other climbers to browse, upvote, and comment. Public listings show your display name (from your profile) and publication date.

Visibility: Content you publish is visible to anyone using the public beta list. Only publish betas you are comfortable sharing. You can unpublish from the app when supported.

3.5 Usage data

We may collect information about how you use the app, including:

  • Device information (type, operating system)
  • App usage patterns and interaction events
  • Error logs and crash reports

3.6 Camera, microphone, and photo library access

The app may request access to your camera, microphone, and photo library so you can add photos, record voice notes, or pick images for beta notes. We use this access only when you explicitly choose to add or record media. We do not access the camera or microphone in the background without your action.

4. How we use your information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide climbing logs, pyramid reports, and beta note features
  • Sync your data across devices and support offline use with local cache
  • Operate the public beta catalog, upvotes, and comments
  • Manage Climber Pro subscriptions and in-app purchases (processed by Apple or Google)
  • Send important service notifications when you enable them
  • Improve app performance, reliability, and user experience
  • Ensure security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations

5. Local storage and offline use

ClimberPyramid caches your logs and beta notes on your device so you can view and edit content when offline. Pending changes may be queued and uploaded when you are back online. Cached data on your device is subject to your device security settings.

6. Data storage and security

Your account data is stored using Supabase, a cloud-based backend service. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest
  • Row-level security policies to isolate data between users
  • Secure authentication and authorization
